The artist, Oiuda George, who we located and spoke to, told us that she had done two in this series and the one we have is the sister to a painting purchased by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, which was subsequently sold at Southebys for $15,000. The photos include a copy of the original newspaper article showing the Duke and Duchess at the gallery with the painting they purchased, as well as other references from the gallery in Florida, which are all attached to the back of the painting. Framed size is 14" by 11 1/2", the size of the painting itself is 10" by 8", and artist's signature is quite visible. This girl and dog are delightful, the colors are fabulous. What a treasure to find a painting which is related to one purchased and owned by the Duke and Duchess. Painting is in excellent condition, frame needs some work (slight separation at three corners).
