Labradorite is known for its peacock blue iridescence and it no longer being mined. Used by the Victorians often carved into monkey heads this is no exception. It was at that time of Darwin and this image was all the rage. Circa 1870 this monkey is adorned with two rose cut diamonds set in a 14K gold bezel setting. Then Susan's jeweler reset the stone in a hand made setting. Wonderful, full of whimsy and the only one. Color changes from grey to electric blue depending on the light and the mood of this magical monkey. Size is 7 to 7 1/2 (can be sized). We are accepting lay away when terms are agreed upon..

Victorian jewelry is so sought after in part because of it's romantic point of view and also quite naturally because of the kind of workmanship which no longer exists.
Here is one of those examples we are most delighted to offer for sale. All figural jewelry is coveted and this locket will be no exception. The bird is in flight as his or her wing is lifted and it would appear to be guarding it's nest of three little eggs or baby birds to be hatched. The flowers around the nest are blue which in metaphysical terms is the color of communication and the eggs are of course white pearls which signify purity. The number three historically refers to creativity, the trinity and in some cultures luck.We date this to Circa 1820, condition is wonderful, no dings and interior is completely original Measures aaprox. 2 1/4" with original bail. Can be worn with pearls, beads, cord or leather(those shown not included).

This outstanding handcrafted Cannetille 22K gold pin dates to the early 1800's. It is a beautiful portrait of an aristocratic Indian man in full dress attire painted on ivory. This was done at a time when England ruled India and the English influence was apparent. Please remember that portrait paintings were the only method at that time to portray the image of someone who one wanted to remember. This quality of the gold work likens to gold wire being twisted, tightly wound and then accented. The original C clasp remains and all is in superb condition. We are honored to offer this object of history.
