We are honored to offer this outstanding example of portrait miniature, 22K gold, Cannetille style of an aristocratic man from India in full dress attire Circa 1880, this was clearly created in the period of time when England dominated India, hence the affect on portrait but the workmanship of the gold is clearly Indian. These quality items are no longer produced and are so collected today. In superb condition, maintaining it's original "C" clasp this is a treasure to behold.

We are pleased to offer this exciting Cannetille 22K gold miniature portrait of an aristocratic Indian man in full dress attire masterfully painted on ivory. These were created during the Victorian era when England was sovereign over India. Hence we see the English influence of portrait style though the magnificent gold work is classic of Indian superior workmanship and was only created in India at that time (Circa 1880).Called Cannetille which refers to fine gold wire being twisted, tightly wound and then accented.Please remember portrait painting was done only for the wealthy as a way to remember someone as photography was not really in it's day yet. The original "C" clasp remains and all is in superb condition.

Charming French Deco wrought iron coat rack. In wonderful condition with original feet, place for hats, umbrellas,coats, scarves, canes and much more. Measuring 71" in height by 29 3/8" wide. The natural curves and sweeps of this piece make it so attractive as well as unusual. Most difficult to curve metal in this fashion. A feat that of course, was so typical of the Deco period and so well done in France.
